JAMMU: BJP state president Shamsher Singh Manhas said that Anna Hazare's undemocratic arrest carried out by the Congress has reminded the nation of the 'emergency days'. He condemned the Congress leaders and their means to suppress the voice of nationalist people adopting non-violent methods of protest.
"The manner in which Hazare has been arrested by the Delhi Police cannot be justified by any yard-stick. It is against the spirit of the constitution, which allows every individual to protest or observe hunger strike in a peaceful manner. Anna Hazare was not going to commit any crime," he said.

Commenting on the tirade against Anna Hazare by congress leaders, Manhas said, "It is also unfortunate that the frustrated ministers of the Congress in the UPA have started issuing irresponsible and undemocratic statements targetting Anna Hazare and had launched a misleading campaign against Hazare being afraid of getting exposed for their involvement in corruption cases."
