Two more Anna Hazare supporters released

Dubai: Two Dubai-based supporters of Indian anti-corruption campaigner Anna Hazare, who were in detention on charges of violating local laws, were released on bail Monday, according to their lawyer.
The activists were among five in all detained by local authorities. Three of them had been released on Sunday. Dubai Police had arrested the supporters on August 21 after they organised a walk at Al Mamzar Beach Park to express solidarity with Hazare agitation demanding the introduction of a strong anti-corruption law in India. The supporters were arrested on charges of violating the UAE's national security laws.
Granted bail

The accused were granted bail on Sunday and three of them were released from a detention centre in the Murraqabat police station while two were only released yesterday due to some technical issues.

The prosecution granted them bail after being informed that the intention of the accused was not to violate the laws or disturb peace here. "Their intention was not to go against the local laws or to disturb the peace there. They only wanted to show solidarity with the cause in India," said their lawyer Hashik T.K.
Hazare's campaign received strong support from people across India and also from Indians residing in other countries through online platforms and social networking sites.
