ralegan ka hero hmara anna

New Delhi: The man who has become the face of the anti-corruption movement in the country, Anna Hazare, reached his hometown Ralegan Siddhi on Wednesday night where he received a hero's welcome. The 74-year-old activist who was recuperating in a Gurgaon hospital for four days after his 13-day fast reached his village of Ralegan Siddhi, just in time to celebrate Ganesh Chaturthi.
Anna Hazare was discharged from Medanta Medicity, the Gurgaon hospital on late Wednesday evening. He left for Pune immediately after being discharged. Doctors say his health has improved and he is slowly putting on some weight. Anna had lost over 7 kilos after his 13-day fast.

Anna back in Ralegan, skips first day of Ganesh Puja

Recovering from weakness after his 12-day Ramlila Maidan fast, social activist Anna Hazare returned to his village Ralegan Siddhi in the early hours of Thursday but skipped the idol installation function at the Ganpati pandal for the first time and chose to spend the day in isolation, in a room on the Padmavati Temple premises.

People from various parts of the state and the country had come to the village to have a glimpse of Anna but he did not emerge to address them. He is likely to make a public appearance on Friday for the gram sabha meeting and will probably address the media on Monday.

Anna Hazare resembles our forgotten PM Lal Bahadur Shastri

"Lal Bahadur Shastri shares his bday with Gandhi, tough to live in shadow of the mahatma."
Anna Hazare is no longer a new face or new name for any Indians. The 74-year-old Gandhian crusader stirred up the whole nation to come on the road protesting against the government. Many started considering Anna as a crusader who has initiated the "second freedom-struggle" for the country demanding anti-corruption Lokpal Bill. But Anna resembles to another freedom fighter whom the Indians hardly remember. He is none other than but our beloved though forgotten Prime Minister - Lal Bahadur Shastri.

Anna resembles to Shastri ji in everything - from simple lifestyle to their beliefs in non-violence, their faith on Mahatma Gandhi to their unique struggles - India Against Corruption and Jai Jawan Jai Kisan (hail farmers and soldiers!) movement respectively.

Anna Hazare reaches his hometown Ralegan Siddhi

Anna Hazare had gone on a indefinite hunger strike on AUg 16 so that government introduce a strong Lokpal Bill. The Gandhian broke his fast after the government agreed to 3 conditions he had put forward in implementing a strong Lokpal.
After the government agreed to all his demands, Anna was taken to a Gurgaon hospital where he was repurcating. He was later discharged from the hospital and then left for Pune from where he headed for his native village-Ralegan Siddhi.

Marriage in heaven, anniversary in Ralegan Siddhi

For Puneites Priyanka and Amitabh Singh, the village of veteran Gandhian Anna Hazare, Ralegan Siddhi, was the perfect venue to celebrate their marriage anniversary on Sunday.
"We have been closely following Anna's agitation for the last 12 days and have also participated in some rallies in Pune," the couple recalled.
In fact, they were so happy after parliament accepted Hazare's three demands on the Jan Lokpal Bill on Saturday that the young couple had planned to go to New Delhi to celebrate. "Since the air fare was exorbitant, we decided to drive down to Ralegan Siddhi," recalled Priyanka.
